One request, matched to the actual job

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Check my survey requirement

Credential — membership, qualification or professional designation

Capability — the right vessel, material, size and survey experience

Appointment — authority from the relevant flag or organisation

Acceptance — confirmation that the resulting report or certificate will be accepted

Vincentian survey locations

Plan the survey island by island across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The country’s yacht locations are separated by sea and have very different access and repair support. Name the exact island, berth or anchorage, tender arrangements, haul-out plan and whether the assignment is a private condition survey or formal SVG flag work.

Saint Vincent

Kingstown · Blue Lagoon · Calliaqua · Young Island

The main island offers the broadest transport links. Confirm marina security, contractor access, haul-out location and whether travel onward to another island is required.

Bequia

Admiralty Bay · Port Elizabeth · nearby yards and anchorages

A distinct cruising and boat-service centre. Confirm tender access, the vessel’s presentation and whether the required lift or specialist equipment is available.

Mustique & Canouan

Mustique · Canouan · resort marinas and moorings

Private-island and resort access must be arranged in advance. Include security permission, transport, accommodation and the proposed ashore-inspection location.

Union Island & southern Grenadines

Union Island · Mayreau · Tobago Cays · Palm Island

Remote-island work depends on weather, transfer and safe boarding. A complete survey may require moving the yacht to an island with suitable yard facilities.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What information is needed for an SVG marine survey quote?

Provide the exact island, marina, berth or anchorage, vessel particulars, construction, purpose and date. Include tender access, island transfers, haul-out, sea trial and any insurer, lender, SVG flag or commercial-yacht requirement.

Can one surveyor cover several Grenadine islands?

Potentially, but each island visit needs an agreed transfer, weather window, accommodation plan and access contact. Do not assume that one attendance or fee covers multiple islands.

Can any marine surveyor issue SVG statutory documents?

No. The SVG Maritime Administration publishes organisations authorised to issue statutory documents after satisfactory surveys. The correct authorised route depends on the vessel and certificate.

What is different about an SVG commercial-yacht survey?

The SVG Commercial Yacht Code specifies initial, annual and renewal surveys and an authorised certification route. A private pre-purchase or insurance report does not automatically replace that work.

Are island transfers, haul-out and sea trial included?

Only when expressly included. Flights, ferries or charter boats, accommodation, yard fees, lift, wash, relaunch, skipper, fuel and specialist testing can be separate.

Who appoints the marine surveyor?

The client appoints the independent surveyor and agrees scope, fee, timing, limitations and terms directly. Saint Vincent Marine Survey provides information and introductions only.

Can you help with other specialist marine survey assignments?

Potential assignments include charter-yacht condition surveys, inter-island delivery & sea trials, storm & hurricane damage surveys, rig & mast inspections, engine diagnostics & oil analysis, moisture, osmosis & corrosion, refit, repair & acceptance inspections, svg commercial-yacht & statutory work. Availability depends on the location, vessel and required specialist capability or formal appointment.
